ANATOMY: The human body naturally lacks the amphibious contours and smoothness portrayed in this image. It is a complex structure of angles and protrusions, something this image has failed to acknowledge. In fact, it is highly unlikely, unless the character went through numerous rib extractions, that he would have a completely flat chest and stomach. Also, he lacks the natural musculature of the average male. As with the ribs, this characters lacks all contour of the pelvic region. The arms legs seem to belong to that of a child around age nine or ten, but that may have been the intention of the artist. I would also like to point out that the character's nipples are placed far too laterally from the sternum. The humerus is strangely dislocated from the rotator cuff on the character's right arm. Though I understand that the character's ears are not meant to be human, they look like they were formed with a spoon and clay. I would also like to note that eyebrows are typically attached to a person's face and do not float or hover above hair or anything else that may be placed in front of them.
POSE Posture is a huge issue in this image. For one, where/what is this looking toward? The expression seems a little bland, possibly tired. It is highly unlikely that they would ever kneel he way this image suggests, balancing on the very tops of their knees, as that is a very painful pose to hold. The position of the hands is a little confusing. It is unclear what the artist is trying to portray here. I cannot think of any reason why a person would cup their hands at the top of their pelvis; it is not a natural thing to do. This image seems to lack physics entirely, as petals are falling down to the right, yet the character's hair is blown by wind to the left side of the image. Likewise, the light shining on the character appears to be coming from directly in front of him whereas the lighting affecting the setting seems to be coming from the left side of the image. What is the source of light? Where is it coming from? Considering the fact that both the character and the scenery exist on the same plane of existence, they should be affected by the same physical forces. The shadows themselves are confusing. They seem to be placed at random and have no relation to the light source, or sources as the case may be. In fact, on the character itself, the shadows look more like a sheen of dirt or mud.
And Inuyasha is tough and the leaves and hair are blowing strangely, not much of a professional myself but sounds like Aquiose wants to help you. maybe redo the image and make it a little less "uh... what"
You've put so much effort to critique such an old drawing. Try critiquing child drawings in serious matter too OMG, they are badly shaded, badly lighted and have perspective issues, what a surprise.
What I love most is pose and some anatomy issues you mentioned. Back there I heavily lacked skill and was used to use random google photos as pose references, so I'm absolutely sure this pose is physiologically possible and 100% real. Including nipple positions.
I know myself this pic is drawn badly, but it is old as hell. You really think you efforts are useful now in 2013?

(I imediately fell for low-rise men's undies when I saw Kouta Ohki wearing them in Shiuko Kano's 'Punch Up!')
Inuyasha: Hey get off me
me: NO WAY
Inuyasha: grr why you...

Inuyasha: alright fine
